Jeanne d'Albret Garden, medieval inspiration

Located at the entrance to the heart of the city, near the historic site of the Jeanne d'Albret tower, the medieval-inspired garden offers 4 specific areas on a surface area of 2800 m2, on the banks of the Vienne river: the Herbularium (space for medicinal and aromatic plants) the Hortus (vegetable and aromatic plants area) the Viridarium (space for fruit trees) the Garden of Mary (pleasure garden) This public green space is also an educational and pedagogical garden accessible to all and open to schools. It is also a real tool for promoting sustainable development: preservation of biodiversity through the cultivation of old, hardy and resistant varieties of vegetables and fruit adapted to the region, conservation of old varieties, presentation of local medicinal plants to the public, use of cultivation techniques that respect man and the environment (mulching, use of natural and local materials), maintenance of the space according to a "Zero Pesticide" approach.
Open: all year round. Free entrance. Possibility of guided tours by the Tourist Office of Val de Vienne (+33 5 55 70 19 71).
