Losmonerie castle gardens
The castle of Losmonerie was erected in 1540 by Jean Chantais, elected for the King, in the spirit of a Renaissance house in the countryside (tower, staircase, gallery, chapel). In the following century, Jean de Lubersac formed the entire courtyard and enriched the interior with numerous pictorial decorations. In the 18th century, officers from the Limoges Finance Office, the Texandiers from Losmonerie, brought the refinement of the 18th century inside. (tapestry and furniture classified as Historic Monuments).
Three gardens are arranged around the castle of Losmonerie:
- a formal and flowery garden around historic buildings
- a gourmet garden with the largest French collection of raspberries with more than 100 varieties to enjoy while walking
- a wild garden, an exceptional site on the banks of Vienne with its wicker hut (made by Emmanuel Puybonnieux)
